About us
Elaine is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). She has almost 20 years of experience, initially within the audit department of a big 4 accountancy firm, both in the UK and overseas, working with private, public and third sector clients. More recently, Elaine has been specialising in small and medium sized charities, community interest companies (CIC’s) and community groups. In 2015 she undertook a Masters in Charity Resource Management at Sheffield Hallam University to enhance her skills in the third sector, encompassing accountancy, fundraising, governance and strategy in reference to charities and other social enterprises such as CIC’s. Graduating with a distinction in 2017, Elaine was also awarded a Diploma in Charity Accounting from the ICAEW.
During her time working with charities, Elaine has experience as a trustee, treasurer, bookkeeper and finance manager, and is an active committee member in a community sports club, enabling her to gain experience of being involved in the running of an organisation and not only as an external adviser. Her work as an independent examiner has meant she has gained understanding of organisations working in different fields.
Elaine works with a variety of charities ranging from a large leisure trust to medium sized charities employing a number of staff with multiple activities and funds to the small community charity set up to run a playgroup or village hall. She also works with voluntary community groups and CIC’s established to operate a social enterprise within the community.
